Imageworx

Imageworx is a quality and service-oriented supplier of prepress services to the printing, packaging, cosmetic, medical, and advertising industries. All their work is produced in their modern, 15,000 square foot facility in Levittown, Pennsylvania.

They have been experiencing rapid growth recently and were in need of additional space for storage of printed goods. Luckily, their warehouse had very tall ceilings and lots of unused air space.

Imageworx reached out to The Mezzanine Company to provide a storage solution. Some of the challenges of the project were:

1. There are a number of obstructions, along two of the three walls that the mezzanine would join up against, that we had to workaround

2. The stairs needed to fit into a tight space in order to not lose valuable mezzanine square footage and floor space

3. The mezzanine would need to match up with the height of an existing second floor production area

One of our project managers made an initial site visit to Imageworx’s Levittown location to assess the project needs. Using the information gathered, we came up with a design for a 1,600 square foot rectangular shaped storage mezzanine that would serve their needs. For the flooring, Resindek would be used.

In order to match up with the existing second floor, the mezzanine was custom designed with a height of 17’4” (which is taller than our average mezzanine project) and with long spans, utilizing structural I-beams, to maximize the amount of unobstructed floor space below. Additionally, the mezzanine included an L-shaped IBC stair, with a mid-landing, to allow for easy access from the warehouse.

Once the proposal was accepted, approval drawings were created and our project manager made a final site visit to make the finishing design adjustments. Additionally, we provided PE stamped drawings, for the State of Pennsylvania, to be used for permitting purposes.

When the mezzanine was completed production, we arranged for a prompt delivery and coordinated together the best installation schedule. The mezzanine was installed by our local installation team, as planned.
