Chic Sugars is a custom cake boutique in Englewood, NJ that brings deliciousness to life by whipping up awe-inspiring, decadent, and tasty creations. They have been creating amazing cakes and other custom desserts for their clients, including many celebrities, for over 12 years!

After many years at their Fort Lee location, due to rapid growth, they were going to be relocating to a new building in Englewood, NJ. This new location would be three times the space of their existing location! The renovation plans for the new building included two mezzanine spaces that would be used for an office, storage, and a display area for their products

Chic Sugars reached out to The Mezzanine Company about providing the mezzanine solution for this new location. With a scheduled opening date in the near future, and a lot of coordination with the rest of the build-out, choosing the right company to partner with was very important. They needed someone who could work closely with their architect and contractor and also provide a solution within a short period of time.

Working closely with the architect for Chic Sugars, we came up with a proposal and designs for two mezzanines that would provide them with around 700 square feet of extra space.

Both mezzanines would be custom painted black to match the style of the new location. In order to allow employee and customer access, each mezzanine would have an IBC staircase; one straight run and one L-shaped.

Once the proposal was accepted, approval drawings were generated and our project manager made a site visit to make the finishing design adjustments. Once everything was approved, we fast tracked the production of the mezzanine with our manufacturing partner so that we could meet Chic Sugars’ tight timeline

When the mezzanine production was complete, we arranged for a prompt delivery and coordinated together the best installation schedule. The mezzanine was installed by our local installation team, as planned and in time for the new store’s opening.
