Challenge

The Central Intelligence Agency or CIA is an independent US government agency responsible for providing national security intelligence to senior US policymakers.

At one of their locations, the CIA needed some additional space at a workstation to provide more work space and sufficient storage for the equipment required in running the station.

They contacted The Mezzanine Company for assistance with creating a suitable space solution.

Solution

We provided the CIA with the additional space needed by building a mezzanine over the entire workstation.  This mezzanine provided them with 185 square feet of space which they could use to store materials and equipment.

To make the space easy to access and move materials to and from the platform, we included a 5’ wide double swing gate on the mezzanine and an OSHA regulation staircase.

We also included handrail and kick plate on all open sides of the mezzanine to meet all safety requirements.

Also, by working with our shipping company and installer, we arranged for the delivery and installation of everything on time.

Update: The CIA was so pleased with the result that they contacted us soon after to order an additional mezzanine with the same specifications as this one.

Update: We were again approached by the CIA to do four other mezzanines, this time at a different location, though.  However, we determined that they would be best served by combining two of them to give them one 375 square foot mezzanine with two double swing gates and one OSHA stair and two mezzanines with the original size and configuration.

Update: We were again contacted by the CIA for three mezzanines in the same configuration and style as the last project but for a different division located in the same facility as the original project.

What Our Customers Say...

The staff at The Mezzanine Company seemed to be an unusually well coordinated, enthusiastic team. Everyone I interacted with had current information and knew exactly what needed to be done to keep the project moving towards completion. Your consistent, timely communication and keeping me aware of the project status made it easy to make decisions throughout the process.
