Challenge

Flowserve heritage dates back to the 1790 founding of Simpson & Thompson by Thomas Simpson, later to become Worthington Simpson Pumps. Today, Flowserve Corporation is an American multinational corporation and one of the largest suppliers of industrial and environmental machinery such as pumps, valves, end face mechanical seals, automation, and services to the power, oil, gas, chemical and other industries. Headquartered in Irving, Texas, a suburb of Dallas, Flowserve has over 18,000 employees in more than 55 countries

Recently, they were looking to gain space for offices in one of their warehouses. As space on the ground level was limited, they decided to make use of the available airspace in their facility.

Flowserve reached out to The Mezzanine Company to provide a solution. In order to maximize the new office space area, we would need to work in a very tight area. Additionally, the mezzanine would have to match up with an existing structure.

Solution

Working closely with Flowserve, we came up with a design for a 500 square foot rectangular shaped office mezzanine that would serve their needs. The mezzanine would provide them with 4 separate offices. Each office included standard electric package of light switches, outlets, LED lights, and phone and CAT 6 computer jacks.

The platform was custom designed to work around various obstructions, including a crane, since this was an existing facility.

Once the proposal was accepted, approval drawings were generated and our project manager made a several site visits to make the finishing design adjustments.

Due to the timing needs of the customer, we fast tracked the production of the mezzanine and offices. Once production was complete, we arranged for a prompt delivery and coordinated together the best installation schedule. The mezzanine was installed by our local installation team, as planned.

Chuck Kruzan, from Flowserve, had this to say about our services: “The Mezzanine Company's communication and quick responses are excellent. They came out and reviewed the area before fabrication and made some quick dimensional checks to ensure a smooth install. Installers were professional and did a nice job touching up any scuff marks and cleaning up after the install”.

What Our Customers Say...

The staff at The Mezzanine Company seemed to be an unusually well coordinated, enthusiastic team. Everyone I interacted with had current information and knew exactly what needed to be done to keep the project moving towards completion. Your consistent, timely communication and keeping me aware of the project status made it easy to make decisions throughout the process.
