Harris Assembly Group is a Contract Manufacturer, serving the OEM Electronics Industry for over 35 years, out of their 28,000 square foot manufacturing facility. Their expertise is focused on Electro-Mechanical Assemblies, Mechanical Assemblies and Cable and Harness Assemblies.

Recently, they were looking to free up more floor space for operations. Harris Assembly reached out to The Mezzanine Company to provide a storage solution

Some of the challenges of the project would be that we would have to match with an existing second level office area for access while also designing the mezzanine with proper clearances around existing electrical equipment. Lastly, Harris Assembly wanted to make sure there would be minimal interruption to their ongoing operations.

Working closely with Harris Assembly, we came up with a design for a 1,110 square foot rectangular shaped storage mezzanine that would serve their needs. For the flooring, Resindek would be used.

To work around the electrical equipment and to match the height of their second level office area, the mezzanine was custom designed with a height of 8’9”. The mezzanine included a l-shaped IBC stair, to allow for foot traffic, and also a 5’ double swing gate, to allow for moving materials on and off.

Once the proposal was accepted, approval drawings were generated and our local rep made several site visits to make the finishing design adjustments. Additionally, we provided PE stamped drawings, for the State of New York, to be used for permitting purposes.

When the mezzanine was completed production, we arranged for a prompt delivery and installation by our local team. Installation was set up specifically to work third shift hours and around their existing setup below to minimize disruption.
