Hattiesburg Cycles was started in 1985 as a three man company selling a single line of power sports equipment. Now, nearly 30 years later, they are the largest Mississippi Gulf Dealer of power sports equipment with over sixty employees and ten lines of equipment.
During their expansion they moved into a new facility with over 100,000 square feet of space, but as their success continued they soon found themselves filling up every last inch of space.
Hattiesburg Cycles contacted The Mezzanine Company to provide a mezzanine system that would create the additional space they needed in one of their showrooms.
We worked very closely with Hattiesburg Cycles to understand what they needed for this project to design a system to best suit their needs. In the end, we came up with a layout that had the mezzanine wrapped around the showroom, thereby freeing up the area in the middle of the room to display vehicles. To accomplish this, the mezzanine needed to match up with four different walls to account for the irregular shape of the showroom.
To ensure our design would fit perfectly we sent out our project managers to measure and adjust the design to ensure the platform would fit snugly into place. In addition, we worked closely with the factories engineering team to ensure that the structure would have a uniform look befitting its new surroundings in the showroom.
The result was a 2,470 square foot storage platform with 10’ of clearance underneath to provide plenty of room and contribute to the grand feeling of the space. We supplied two ‘U’ shaped staircases, one for either end of the platform to create a good flow for traffic.
For accommodating the movement of larger items to the structure we provided a 7’x7’ VRC lift with full enclosure, making it very easy to move the larger items like tires on and off the mezzanine.
Throughout the course of the project, we kept up a constant stream of communication with all the necessary parties to ensure the job flowed smoothly from start to finish and that any issues that arose were handled promptly and professionally. All of this hard work paid off and lead to the successful completion of the project.
