Challenge

Retro Fitness owner, Mitchell Kurtzer contacted The Mezzanine Company to assist with adding some additional space at his existing location in Edison, NJ. He already had a well-established location but was looking to add a second level to provide some additional options to his customers, specifically for Functional Intensity Interval Training.

As with past Retro Fitness projects, from both a structural and architectural standpoint, we had to make sure the design flowed well with everything underneath. Additionally, because this was an existing building, the project required careful coordination with the existing building layout.

Lastly, as this was an existing location, it was important that the mezzanine would be installed with minimal interruption to operations.

Solution

One of our project managers started by making a site visit to their location to consult with Mitchell and take measurements. After further consultation with the owner, The Mezzanine Company provided a proposal for an approximately 1,000 square foot custom mezzanine. The mezzanine would include one IBC stairs and wire mesh handrail. Additionally, the mezzanine would be custom painted Retro Red in order to match the standard branding of the location.

After the initial design was approved, our project manager made another site visit and confirmed all the measurements and made final adjustments to the design.

After careful planning and efficient communication between all parties, the mezzanine was delivered and installed. The new cardio deck enhanced Retro Fitness’ workout experience by creating valuable additional space for their new exercise equipment

Mitchell Kurtzer was very pleased with the product and provided the following feedback: “I would absolutely recommend your company to any business needing a second mezzanine level. The Mezzanine Company was professional, competitively priced, understanding and consumer friendly. Our project manager, Francis Rutz, made the perfect liaison between all the professionals and subcontractors involved in the project and moreover was a good guy. If something presented a challenge during the planning, development and build out, Francis always helped to resolve the dilemma in the best possible manner.”

What Our Customers Say...

It is always my intention to do business with companies that put customer service and satisfaction in the forefront. When we needed a mezzanine to expand storage in one of our rooms we looked for a company that we felt could fit the bill and The Mezzanine Company certainly did just that.
