STERIS Applied Sterilization Technologies provides contract sterilization, laboratory testing, and product and packaging testing services to manufacturers of medical devices, pharmaceuticals, consumer goods, and industrial products.

Due to a recent internal reorganization to optimize their warehouse space, they were moving their maintenance department to a new location. They would need a mezzanine in order to provide enough space for maintenance department's new location. Since we had previously worked with STERIS on mezzanine and stair projects, they reached out to us to provide a turnkey solution for this mezzanine project.

As this mezzanine would be installed in an area with existing operations, the main challenge of this project would be having to design the system around doors, non-moveable sprinkler risers, and other obstructions, in extremely tight conditions.

Working closely with STERIS, we came up with a design for a 933 square foot rectangular shaped storage mezzanine that would serve their needs. For the flooring, Resindek would be used. Additionally, a safety pivot gate was provided to allow for loading materials on and off the mezzanine, while providing a safe load area.

Once the proposal was accepted, approval drawings were generated and our local rep made several site visits to make the finishing design adjustments. Additionally, since this was a turnkey project, we provided permitting services to get the mezzanine approved with the local township.

Once the mezzanine production was completed, we arranged for a prompt delivery and installation by our local team and also coordinated the installation with the sprinkler company and electrician.
