Challenge

Beach Haven is a borough in Ocean County, New Jersey, United States that is located on Long Beach Island (LBI) and borders the Atlantic Ocean. In July of 1916, beginning with Beach Haven, a series of shark attacks along the Jersey shore supposedly became the basis for the book Jaws by Peter Benchley!

With the shark problems now way in the past, the city of Beach Haven was planning to construct a new building for a maintenance garage. The garage would be used to maintain the city’s vehicles. The plans for the new building included an L-shaped mezzanine to be used for shelving to store maintenance supplies.

The Mezzanine Company was contacted to provide a storage solution.

Solution

Working closely with the architect and the contractor providing the garage, we provided a proposal for a 1,248 square foot L-shaped storage mezzanine that would serve their needs and incorporate the mezzanine design into the building design.

For the flooring, heavy duty Gray Diamond Sealed Resindek would be used in order to handle the potential abuse. To allow for foot traffic, 2 straight-run IBC staircases were provided. Additionally, the mezzanine was custom designed with cutouts to fit around the building columns along the building walls (see examples in the project photos).

Once the proposal was accepted, approval drawings were generated and our project manager made a site visit to make the finishing design adjustments.

When the mezzanine production was completed, we arranged for a prompt delivery and installation by our local team.

What Our Customers Say...

The staff at The Mezzanine Company seemed to be an unusually well coordinated, enthusiastic team. Everyone I interacted with had current information and knew exactly what needed to be done to keep the project moving towards completion. Your consistent, timely communication and keeping me aware of the project status made it easy to make decisions throughout the process.
