Motor Technology is “is a family-owned company that builds, services, and sells industrial motors, controls, gearboxes, and related driven equipment for advanced electric motor systems. Since 1981, they have been an integral component in keeping Pennsylvania industries up and running smoothly and efficiently.”

Recently, they were looking to gain some storage space in a crowded parts storage room, that housed shelves/rack, desks, and some file cabinets, at their location. Motor Technology contacted The Mezzanine Company for a solution.

The mezzanine would be added to an existing, active facility, so custom designing the locations of the columns was important in order to work around the existing workspace on the ground floor.

The Mezzanine Company worked closely with Motor Technology to come up with a design for a storage platform mezzanine that would serve their needs. We proposed an approximately 1,600 square foot platform. The mezzanine included (1) straight run OSHA staircases for employee access.

The mezzanine would include a 6’ double swing gate in order to provide access for a fork lift to load materials on and off the mezzanine. To work around some obstructions along a wall and an existing exit door, the mezzanine was custom designed with special column placement.

Once the proposal was accepted, approval drawings were created and our project manager made a site visit to make the final design adjustments.

When the mezzanine was out of production, we arranged for a prompt delivery the week of the install. The mezzanine was installed by our local installation team, as planned, and on time, with minimum interruption to operations.
