Challenge

Reaction Housing is revolutionizing disaster response with the creation of the Exo Housing System, “a smart, highly portable shelter that is light enough to be moved by hand and packs more connectivity than a modern home.”

Reaction House was looking to build out some new office space in their building and wanted to a two level office layout so they could create enough space for conference rooms and working space.

They reached out to The Mezzanine Company to help create the second level of office space using a mezzanine.

Solution

The Mezzanine Company reviewed Reaction Housing’s requirements and building space and provided a proposal for an approximately 2,500 square foot, T-shaped mezzanine. The mezzanine included an IBC mezzanine stairs with wire mesh panels.

To match the aesthetics of their office, the mezzanine was specially painted black, including all of the kickplate and wiremesh.

The mezzanine was also designed with specific column and bracing placements to coordinate with the proposed office layout below. Once Reaction Housing decided to move ahead with the proposal, we had our local Texas representative and installation manager perform a site visit to confirm the existing building layout along with the planned office future build out in order to finalize our post placements.

Since timing was crucial, we were able to work with the factory to finish production earlier than usual. Once the mezzanine was ready for shipment and delivery, we coordinated everything with our installer to provide a quick installation so that Reaction Housing could quickly get back to changing the world.
