Challenge

Sharp Construction Services is an established contractor in the commercial and residential construction business in the DFW area.

Recently, they were working with a client at Spinks Airport to renovate an airport hanger. In order to make use of the hanger's high ceilings, the renovation would include a two level mezzanine for aircraft and helicopter parts storage.

The mezzanine would need to be custom designed to fit around aircraft that would be stored in the same building. Additionally, the customer planned on relocating the mezzanine, in the future, into another space. So they wanted it to be designed to fit differently in that other hanger.

Solution

Working closely with Sharp Construction, we came up with a design for a custom storage mezzanine that met their requirements. The two level mezzanine provided them with a total of 4,050 square feet storage space, at a capacity of 150lbs/psf.

The mezzanine included two straight-run OSHA staircases for employee access and two 8’ wide double swing gates for moving parts on and off the mezzanine via forklift.

In order to meet their current and future needs, the mezzanine was designed in such a way that an entire portion could be relocated to another section without additional modifications.

After the proposal was approved and approval drawings were ready for review, one of our installation managers made a site visit and made final adjustments to the designs. Once the mezzanine was ready for shipment, we successfully coordinated the installation with our local installer.

What Our Customers Say...

It is always my intention to do business with companies that put customer service and satisfaction in the forefront. When we needed a mezzanine to expand storage in one of our rooms we looked for a company that we felt could fit the bill and The Mezzanine Company certainly did just that.
